Toasted Walnut Cookies
Order fresh-baked, homeade Toasted Walnut Cookies online. We call them Butterballs, but additional names include Mexican Wedding Cookies, Snowballs, and Russian Tea Cake cookies. The walnuts in the cookies are buttered, salted & toasted, bringing a perfect balance of sweet and salty. They are then rolled in confectioner's powdered sugar.

Although not considered "Eastern" European, we've listed this cookie with the rest that always appear on Wedding Cookie Tables in our region. Everyone has a slightly different version and name of this toasted walnut cookie, but we're confident all will enjoy! And let's talk more about butter... As you would expect from the name, we use real butter. No blends that call themselves butter. Blends contain cheap vegetable oils such as margerine and shortening, which are almost always "hydrogenated" or "partially hydrogenated". They are otherwise known as the harmful "trans fats" you hear about, and they have no business being in any baked good! Storage
If properly sealed, these toasted walnut cookies will keep fresh at room temperature for weeks. If you'd like to save some for a later date, freeze them and pull them out to thaw about an hour before serving. Since no chemical additives or preservatives are in our cookies, freezing is the best natural preservative. They will keep for up to six months in the freezer.
