Shipping Rules & Policies: What You Need To Know


1.) When will my order arrive?

Yay! Your order will be baked fresh and packaged with the utmost care by one of our bakers.  Most orders are delivered to the carrier within 2 business days; please allow additional time during holidays. Once shipped, your selected carrier speed (see below) determines when it arrives. Shipping days are typically M-F, sometimes weekends.  U.S. transit speeds do not apply to Military addresses, please see Military Shipping Policy.


2.) How do I track my order?

Tracking is automatically sent to the email address provided on the order. Please add us to your email contacts, and check your spam folder - just in case :)  Tracking emails are provided as a convenience; we cannot guarantee email inbox delivery.


3.) How do I receive my order?

If you're sending a gift, please let them know to "expect a package". It's not required, but we recommend someone is home to receive the package, or ship to an alternate such as workplace.  Here's Why:  Anything that happens next is entirely outside our control...

Leaving a package at an address is ultimately up to the complete discretion of the individual delivery person; If the package is not left, the customer is responsible for arranging pickup or re-delivery with the carrier. The customer is responsible for retrieving the package at all possible delivery locations such as front & side doors, garage door, in or at mailbox, parcel locker, apartment lobby, lobby desk, etc;  We're more than happy to leave notes on packages for the carrier, however they do not offer special requests as a service and are not required to accommodate them. They may not always ring the doorbell. The customer is responsible for packages left outside & exposed to bad weather / elements, and any other such delivery events beyond our control.

Customers are responsible for checking that all shipping information is correct before submitting an order. Once the order is processed, it cannot be altered. Butter Maid Bakery is not responsible for packages returned to us or delivered to the incorrect address as a result. If the carrier reroutes a delivery due to an incorrect address, a $12 charge will be applied. There are no returns, modifications, or cancellations allowed on any order once it has been processed.


Time Sensitive Events: When should I order?

Outside of busy holiday seasons, we can have an order arrive on any exact date. We highly recommend ordering early, and scheduling arrival a minimum of 1 day early. All products are guaranteed to arrive fresh, and can be frozen for up to 6 months. We cannot be responsible for delays in transit due to weather, natural disaster, high package volume, strikes, or any such event beyond our control.


What does "Guaranteed arrival by [ending with a date]", mean on ads and the shipping options at checkout?

Sometimes we advertise "Guaranteed Arrival" with a date included on the shipping option you purchased at checkout, for example, "Standard Shipping - Guaranteed Arrival By Christmas 12/24". Carriers usually suspend their guarantees during holidays, so this is no cost added protection courtesy of Butter Maid Bakery, so that you can shop with confidence. It means that if your package does not arrive by the specified date, you can contact us for a full refund of the shipping charges paid. If your order had free standard shipping on an over $49 order, we can offer you a refund in the amount of $9.99 - the cost for Standard Shipping - even though you did not pay anything for shipping. This money back guarantee is on the carrier service only, not products purchased, however your order is always guaranteed to arrive fresh.

Do you ship to Alaska/Hawaii?

We do! Shipping for 1-2 items is $9.99, and Free Standard shipping is available for exactly 3 items. Larger quantities pay actual USPS carrier fees, which can be costly. To avoid that, please place separate orders in smaller quantities.
