Military Shipping Policy

What products can I send, and will they arrive fresh?

With over a decade of experience shipping baked goods, we've delivered thousands of military care packages, and all fresher than our competition! We've thoroughly tested and approved the Military APO/FPO Collection for orders going overseas, and all products in our store can be shipped to U.S. bases or camps. Upon order placement, your cookies are baked fresh the old fashioned way with the finest ingredients we can find. We produce very rich cookies, which take months to dry out. Our military taste testers chose our 4 week old cookies over the 2 week old competition, and we're confident your soldier will too! Hear what they are saying in product reviews and testimonials.

Ship To APO/FPO/DPO Addresses

At checkout, enter your U.S. Military APO, FPO, or DPO shipping address just as you would any U.S. address. To make sure your package gets to its destination, follow these instructions:

  1. First and Last Name: Enter without rank numbers or commas (USPS will not accept numbers or punctuation in a name)
  2. Address Line 1:
For Army, Navy and Marines - enter Unit Number and Box Number
For Ships - enter Ship Name and Hull Number
For Air Force - enter PSC Number and Box Number
  3. Address Line 2:  Enter optional military command or organization name (e.g., USAG J or 2/566 Postal Co.).
  4. City:  Must enter either APO, FPO, or DPO. Entering the country's city is incorrect and will delay your order.
  5. State:  Select one of the following:
    AE – Armed Forces Europe
    AA – Armed Forces Americas
    AP – Armed Forces Pacific
  6. ZIP Code:  Enter the 5-digit ZIP code for the military unit. It must start with a 0 or 9. Any other ZIP codes in combination with AE, AA or AP will result in your order being delayed.
  7. Country: "United States" is the only option and is correct (even if your order may be going to Afghanistan). All packages are mailed through the United States Postal Service and forwarded to the Military Postal Service Agency for delivery, which USPS considers domestic. Do not include the country or the base camp's city on any line of the address.

Address Example:

SGT John Doe
Unit 45013 Box 2666
Camp Victory
APO AE 09364

Our experienced staff will automatically correct formatting errors for you. However, it is imperative that the shipping address you provide is correct and complete. We cannot be responsible for packages returned to us or delivered to the incorrect address.

Please notify your soldier that they should expect a package!

The package may be routed through the bases mail system and delivered directly, or it may need picked up at the mail room / local military post office.

How are the packages sent?

All APO/FPO/DPO orders are sent insured via the US Postal Service (USPS) Priority Mail. Government regulations do not permit delivery services such as UPS / FedEx to deliver to APO/FPO/DPO addresses outside the U.S.  USPS Priority Mail delivery outside of the U.S. requires customs paperwork, which Butter Maid Bakery handles for you.

When will the package arrive?

Government regulations require that packages be mailed through USPS (2-3 Day to the departure city here in the U.S.), and are then sent to the Military Postal Service Agency for delivery. Most orders arrive within 6-10 days of order placement. However, because Military mail is transported to remote and war-zone locations, you should allow a minimum of two weeks for normal overseas delivery and up to 30 days.

How do I know my package will be delivered?

Since all packages are forwarded to Overseas Military Mail for delivery, it's not possible for us to verify delivery or obtain a return receipt. You are shipping at your own risk. However, we do ship with insurance - so you will be covered if the package is lost.

Ship To A Base / Camp On U.S. Soil - Other Military Installations

What is a "Military Installation"?

A military installation is a facility servicing military forces. It includes a base, camp, post, station, yard, center, or other activity under the jurisdiction of the Secretary of a Military Department. If your military shipping address does not contain an APO/FPO/DPO, it falls under this category with a standard U.S. address.

How do I place the order?

Place your military order just as you would place an order going to any standard U.S. address. You must enter the Military address in the "Shipping Address" section of checkout. Need help? Please Contact Us, we're more than happy to help!
